Municipal Government - Public Works

The Public Works Department consists of a Superintendent, mechanic, 7 full-time machine operators and 6 seasonal machine operators.

The Department is a certified bargaining unit under the International Operating Engineers Union.

The Public Works Department is also a member of the Manitoba Good Roads Association.

It is responsible to Council for:

  • Construction and maintenance of roads, including snow clearing and removal
  • Overseeing operations of St. Andrews Landfill Sites (Earl Grey and Clandeboye)
  • Maintenance of Public Works equipment and buildings
  • Maintenance of right-of-ways and culvert installations
  • Road grading
  • Drainage and steaming of culverts
  • Signage
  • Operation of department, including administration and budgeting
