Local Residents - Fire Control

St. Andrews Fire Department comprises of three district stations:

  • South - corner of Donald Road and Highway #9
  • Central - Railway Avenue, Village of Clandeboye
  • North - Village of Matlock

There are three district chiefs who report to Council on all matters relating to the fire and hazard protection and health and safety of the Municipality.

The Chiefs make recommendations to Council on essential projects and their costs by preparing an annual budget for Council's consideration.

In total, there are 75 members, most of whom are trained to a minimum Level I Firefighting Certification and equipped with 24 hour call-out pagers for quick response time.

Some members are trained both as Firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders or just as EMRs.

Between all three districts, St. Andrews Fire Department operates a total of 19 emergency vehicles.

Radios are installed on all equipment and hand held fleetnet radios are available for officers.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner under the Fire Prevention Act, requires the Chiefs to submit reports of the department's activities.

In 2001, the Department responded to more than 300 calls (all three departments combined).

2) St. Andrews Central - Chief Ray Kelsch - 738-2607 (non-emergency)
