Local Residents - Land Use

St. Andrews Municipality is a member of the Selkirk and District Planning Area Board along with the City of Selkirk, the R.M. of St. Clements and the R.M. of West St. Paul.

The District Development Plan is administered by the Planning Staff (offices located in the City of Selkirk Civic Offices) and the Zoning By-Law for the R.M. of St. Andrews is also administered through here.

It is the responsibility of the Planning Department to consider and report on all matters relating to Planning in the Municipality, including administration and enforcement of the zoning by-law, the building by-law and the building code.

It accepts, reviews and processes all types of permits, including building, plumbing, signs etc. which all require mandatory inspections.

Selkirk and District Planning Area Board staff also receives and processes applications for Development Plan Amendments, Variations and Conditional Uses, all of which are investigated and reported to Council.
