What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. At its most basic level, geocaching is a game where players use GPS receivers to track down a container, or cache. Caches may contain any number of small items, or they may only contain a logbook for players to sign to mark their find.

Is Geocaching Free?
In open-caching; every geocache is listed and accessible to everyone for free. Most geocaching services or websites offer basic information for free, but users may have to pay for premium membership that allows access to more information or advanced searching capabilities.

What is needed to start Geocaching?
  • GPS Unit or Smart Phone with the Geo-caching Application
  • Notebook & Writing Instrument
  • Sun block, bug spray, hat or umbrella  
  • Appropriate clothes and footwear
  • Water and Snacks
